90 sqm apartment // Tel Aviv

IN PROGRESS

The client of this project are a young couple, working in the high-tech and engineering fields. When we discussed and prioritized their objectives and requests, they said the following:
"The apartment should not feel like a standard developer's apartment".
I gladly accepted the challenge, turning this apartment, which had many layout constraints, into a well-designed gem.
When dealing with apartments in a new housing project, we are faced with a rigid layout. The “wet” areas and “Mamad” rooms, usually cannot be moved or altered much, however we worked with this small degree of flexibility we had, and stretched it to the max.

The modifications in the apartment were done with great precision, while maintaining a strict budget, and trying to create a mix between the relatively high standard items provided by the contractor, and upgrading or adding specific new items that would create a "wow" effect.

For example, we upgraded the kitchen and later added a corner carpentry unit that conceals the guest bathroom, while adding a much-needed additional storage space, which is typical for a Tel-Avivian apartment.

In the master bedroom, the design concept was to create a boutique hotel's atmosphere, so they would always feel like they are travelling a bit, even when they are at home :)

We have cancelled the standard layout of a minimum-sized square-shaped shower, and a “spartan” walk-in closet, and replaced it with an open and spacious room, containing a specifically tailored wall closet, which consists of two cabinets with different depths.

The master bathroom is located behind the back of the bed, separated by a Belgian-style glass partition - forming a continuous, lit and airy space.
